COTU secretary general Hounerable Francis Atwoli has been on record drumming support for Orange democratic party leader Raila Odinga presidency. In several Political meetings, he was seen declaring that come next year, it is Odinga who will succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta and nothing else will stop that prediction.
Well, things are not the same anymore. According to the interview made by the standard newspaper, Atwoli seems to have changed his tune on endorsing Odinga. He has now claimed that, him being the region spokesperson. They agreed in a meeting that they will engage leading leaders in the presidential election and that as per today, they have not settled on anyone.

This is contrary to his public declarations few months ago where he endorsed Odinga and even hosted him at his Kajiado home for Political planning and building bridges initiative report discussions.
Before the interview with journalist from the standard newspaper, Atwoli was Appointed Luhya community spokesperson by leaders who attended a meeting in Kakamega. His appointment raised questions from a section of leaders who were not invited. Malala termed the move us worthless and went on to maintain to that, it is only Musalia who is known Luhya kingpin and must be respected.
