What Wajackoyah Said After Failing To Vote Over KIEMS Kit Technical Hitch

George Luchiri Wajackoya, a presidential candidate for the Roots party, is the only one who has not yet voted. Wajackoya was unable to cast his ballot because the KIEMS kit at the polling place where he is scheduled to vote, Indagalasia, in the Matungu constituency, malfunctioned.

A few minutes after 10 am, the candidate arrived at the voting place, but nobody had cast their ballots there yet because of the technical issue.

He was told what the problem was by an IEBC representative, who also said that they had told the headquarters about it.

"I don't comprehend. Why is it failing? And why can't you just scan our IDs so we can cast our votes? But don't be alarmed. Things occur. We hope these difficulties be resolved as long as we do not go beyond today," he replied.

However, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, wondering why he was the only contender for president who was impacted.

"I am sorry I did not cast a ballot. Why am I the only candidate for president who hasn't cast a ballot? Why were the Kiems kits unable to be tested? … I can only declare that I stand with God. Though I cannot express it, I am not happy. What are these people afraid of? How come they didn't test the kits? Older people need to return home," Wajackoya added.
