For months now, political hearsay has been rife that President Uhuru Kenyatta is keen on positioning KANU chairman Gideon Moi to be president of Kenya one day. The Star newspaper has reported Uhuru's game plan that will eventually culminate the young Moi to the house on the hill.
Gideon will first be Raila Odinga's running mate in 2022, with the president hoping the Raila-Gideon candidature will eventually win the top seat. After serving his term, the ODM leader will in turn back Gideon for the top seat in 2027.
However, a section of political observers have noted this scheme must be carefully executed, or else the president will find himself handing over power in 2022 to his worst political enemy currently (Ruto).
It's a waiting game to see if this plot will eventually bore fruits or it will work against the president and his men.
