2023 has started on a good note for former KTN news presenter Michael Gitonga.
Gitonga who has been working as Communication Director in the office of the First Lady has landed yet another lucrative job. On Saturday, January 7, Gitonga revealed to his Twitter followers that he had been appointed as the government spokesperson.
However, the position has since been renamed to Secretary State Functions.
Gitonga went on: "Your leadership and guidance are invaluable I will work to the best of my ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this role, so help me God."
Just a few months ago, Kenya’s President William Ruto named former TV news anchor Hussein Mohamed as the new State House spokesman, formalizing a role he had played right from the time of campaigns.
Mr. Mohamed, a former Citizen TV news anchor known for asking hard-hitting questions during interviews, quit television two years ago before returning last year on the campaign trail of Dr. Ruto. He will replace Kanze Dena, another former TV news reader who worked at Citizen TV.
