Opinion: Lifting of curfew tops Kenyans list of expectations of President Uhuru's last Mashujaa address

Governor Anne Waiguru of Kirinyaga county today played host of over 3000 guests both international and local at Wang'uru stadium for the Mashujaa national holiday.

Kenyans have since expressed their expectations of what the president will address the nation. It should be noted that President Uhuru will be leading the nation for the holiday considering that he will be retiring later next year.

The curfew imposed on the country in bid to fight the spreading wave of the corona pandemic seems to top the list of issues Kenyans want the president to specifically address his plan.

Various political leaders have been asking the president to lift the curfew and allow Kenyans to go but to their normal lives having in mind that the pandemic has brought more harm to the economy.

Another issue is corruption. The church, civil society and political players have continuously condemned the evil graft cases in various government agencies and want the president to outline his plan on fighting the vice.

Last, with the looming campaigns all over the country, Kenyans are hoping to hear if the president will be backing any of the political bigwigs for the presidency.
