Former Kenyan Law Society President Nelson Havi has been proposed for the office of Solicitor General (SG).
The Public Service Commission nominated Havi as one of eight finalists (PSC).
There will be job interviews on December 13 and 14.
The PSC is seeking to replace Ken Ogeto, who has served as the nation's Secretary-General since Uhuru Kenyatta appointed him in 2018.
Havi ran for the Westlands parliamentary seat as part of the United Democratic Alliance, but incumbent Timothy Wanyonyi of the Orange Democratic Movement defeated her.
The solicitor general may run for reelection after serving a five-year term.
The Solicitor General will support the Attorney General (AG) in performing his duties in accordance with the Office of the Attorney General (AG) Act.
The qualifications include that the applicant must be a Kenyan citizen and have a legal degree from an accredited institution.
