Kenya's current leader, President Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto, has been showering favors on his political allies. President Ruto was elected in the highly contentious general elections of 2022, narrowly and controversially defeating Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Movement.
On the other hand, a revelation made by a close ally of President William Samoei Arap Ruto has gotten a lot of Kenyans talking. K24 TV Kenya reports that former MP for the Bahati Constituency Hon. Kimani Ngunjiri claimed that President Ruto had offered him a ministerial position but that he had turned it down. He claimed that he is exempt from serving in government because he was not destined for that role.
"Kimani Ngunjiri: Neither Arap Kirwa nor I were predestined to spend our entire lives serving as public officials. A ministerial position had been offered to me by the President, but I had turned it down because I wanted to work in a more junior capacity." This was posted on the K24 TV Twitter.
