The cabinet secretary ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Innovations and Youth Affairs Joe Mucheru has today highlighted the importance of youth engagement in formation of political parties and coalitions in Kenya ahead of 2022 general elections.
Speaking on Ktn news, Mucheru confesses that these parties and coalitions are getting more and more important as we approach the general elections.
However,he says that not unless the engage youths in their operations, they are doomed to fail before long.
"The political parties and the coalitions being formed are getting more and more important. If they do not have a youth engagement, they will not go far,"he stated.
He further noted that the youth need to decide whether they want to be the ones who lead or they want to be led by someone who'll take care of their needs while emphasizing whoever ignores youths will do it at their own peril during next year's polls.
