The member of parliament for Nyali constituency Honorable Mohamed Ali on Thursday drafted a bill aimed at the impeachment of the cabinet secretary for Interior Dr Fred Matiang'i over allegations of "allowing" killings of innocent kenyans under his watch as the CS.
In his bill, the Mp alleges that Dr Fred Matiang'i has been unable to prevent continued killings in the country. He also accuses the CS for failing to lead and liaise a proper communication between all the stakeholders in the security sector.
But what are the possible reasons why I believe that the Dp has a hand in the impeachment of the CS? In my considered opinion, I strongly believe that Dp Ruto has a hand in this because of the names of the parliamentarians who signed the motion to remove the CS. Almost all of them are members allied to the deputy president and the Tangatanga brigade including Oscar Sudi and Didmus Barasa.
Secondly, Fred Matiang'i took the roles which were being performed by the deputy president William Ruto and I believe that upto now, there are still some bitterness which has led to the Dp's need to settle the scores with him (Matiang'i).
Thirdly, the CS for Interior is nearly "the right hand man" to the president and therefore targeting Matiang'i is good for the Dp because it will help the Dp deal with the president. If they succeed in removing Fred Matiang'i, then it will be a message to the president that nothing can really stop them from removing the president if they wanted.
Lastly, the Dp could be using this particular impeachment process to know his true supporters. When Susan Kihika, Kipchumba Murkomen, Ben Washiali and Aden Dwale were removed from parliamentary posts, they were removed easily. Therefore the Dp would want to prove a point by knowing those who can go to "war" with him.
But in my view I don't think this process will succeed. I don't know what you think but that's my take. Do you think the move by the Mp for Nyali Mohamed Ali will succeed if the motion is brought to parliament? and Who do you think is behind the impeachment of the CS for Interior?
