The votes for the EALA members have now been cast by members of the senate and parliament. Even though many people applied for the position, only nine were chosen to represent the nation. Four from Azimio and five from Kenya Kwanza. As a result when the list was revealed the winners were understandably ecstatic.

Hon. Kanini Kega, a former member of the Kieni parliament is one of those who made it. Dennis Waweru a former candidate for the Dagoretti South seat in the Parliament congratulated him on social media.
Waweru wrote on his official Facebook page, "Congratulations my Brother Hon Kanini Kega."

One of those that lost their seats as a result of the UDA wave in Mount Kenya is Kanini Kega. But he has put a lot of effort into making sure he gets a job in politics. He approached lawmakers after expressing interest in the position to ensure that he won their favor.
