Following Rigathi Gachagua's coronation as the second deputy president, members of Jubilee Party (JP) have taken two distinct routes, some are still loyal to Azimio leadership with others gravitating towards Gachagua's side.
Of those who have endorsed Ruto-Gachagua election is the former Nyeri Township Member of Parliament (MP)_Wambugu Ngunjiri. The former parliamentarian once was an avid pro-Raila crusader but the latter's loss saw him change tune.
In yet another show to manifest his support towards the second in command, Mr Wambugu has come out to defend Gachagua who has been on the receiving end thanks to his misinterpreted sentiments that are sometimes blown out of proportion.
In his latest media discourse, Wambugu alleged that print and media houses are trying to make Ruto's irreverent by capitalizing on the negative sides of his public utterances.
Rigathi's sentiments on economics, farming, family planning and decry of state capture has earned him more critics than allies. Could this be the ploy to numb Gachagua's political mileage? Well, time will tell.
