Big Blow to Kenya Kwanza as Another Popular UDA Aspirant Ditches The Party for DAP-Kenya

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has suffered another big blow in Trans-Nzoia County after a key member who were eyeing the seat of deputy governor’s position under UDA ticket ditches the party to deputize Mr. George Natembeya for gubernatorial position, under DAP-Kenya ticket.

Philemon Samoei, who had been denied the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket to vie the governor’s seat in Tranzoia, announced the decision to back Mr. Natembeya’s bid in Kitale after Mr Wamalwa unveiled his running mate.

While addressing his supporters in Kitale town, Mr. Samoe also called on Kenyans to support Raila Amolo Odinga for presidency, saying he is the best bet compared to other candidates for the top seat.

“Raila will bring tangible change in this country as he has portrayed himself as a national leader,” he said.

He said that if the former prime minister was elected as the president, he would take care of the interest of all Kenyans, regardless of the tribe.

“He is the only leader who will unite Kenyans and is the best placed to end tribalism and usher democracy in this country,” said Mr. Samoe.

On his part, the former Rift Valley Regional commissioner, Mr. George Natembeya said the Bukusu elders have a task of directing the community on which stand they should take when it comes to leadership issues.

“We have already decided on Azimio La Umoja because that is where our interests will be best addressed," said Mr. Natembeya.

Mr. Natembeya continue to say that all Kenyans have decided to support ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta for their initiatives to unite Kenyans.

“When it comes to leadership, respect is very key and there was no way we could remove the deputy president after he started disrespecting President Kenyatta who is a symbol of national unity,” he said.

Mr. Samoei, formerly worked with the Kenya Air Force, and was eyeing the governor’s seat and had been asked to strike a consensus with Mr. Wamalwa of Ford Kenya but declined. He also failed to get the UDA ticket.
