This is according to Kieni MP Kanini Kega, one of the area leaders who have been spearheading Raila's campaigns in the region a he eyes it's vote.
Kega says that though Deputy President William Ruto is still a little bit more popular in the region than Raila, things are about to change and he (Raila) will soon be the most popular leader there.
This, he said, is because of the DP's arrogance and attempts to force the region to support him, which the lawmaker said will soon blow on his face.
"He has already started insulting leaders he feels are not backing him and at the same time forcing them to fold their parties and join his, it will not end well," said the leader while accompanying Raila to Nyeri.
He stated that Mt Kenya has every reason to support the leader as it is only through him that the economy of the country will get in the best place it can.
"Raila is the right choice for us, he is a leader and not a dealer, our people will be safe under his leadership," added the parliamentarian.
Kega said that unlike Ruto who is using force to get the Mt Kenya vote, Raila has chosen the right and respectful path, by going through elders.
Kega doubles up as an ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Mt Kenya kingpin, who is also thought to want Raila as the next President.
