Raila Should Move With Speed as it Emerges What Ruto Might be Doing to Kalonzo

Fresh details now suggest that Deputy President William Ruto might also be silently reaching out to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka in a bid to win him.

This comes amid reports that Kalonzo is in talks with ODM leader Raila Odinga, who wants him back into his Azimio La Umoja fold ahead of the August poll.

But his running mate Andrew Sunkuli has given a hint that Ruto might also be trying his luck and could be behind the scenes reaching out to Kalonzo.

Speaking on Monday, Sunkuli said that everybody is courting Kalonzo, a clear indication that Ruto might also be trying to talk to the former Vice President.

"Everybody is asking us to join them. I think we are an extremely attractive ticket but I want to assure the people of Kenya that we will be asking them for their votes," he is quoted by The Star.

He made the remarks at the Bomas of Kenya on Monday, while representing Kalonzo in a meeting between IEBC and presidential aspirants.

But Sunkuli said that they don't in any way intend to drop their presidential bid and their earlier declaration that they will be in the top race stands.

Sunkuli, who was dramatically unveiled at the SKM Command Center on Monday, termed this the reason he was in Bomas in the first place.

"We are on the ballot that is why we are here to represent my party leader who is out of the country," he further stated.

Ruto was initially publicly trying to woo Kalonzo to join him, and has been seen making mocking remarks about him lately, especially after he was pictured herding cattle in his Yatta Farm.
