Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga has come out to reveal that former president Uhuru Kenyatta was not supposed to campaign for him in the last general elections. Raila was speaking to Citizen TV during an exclusive interview on Wafula Chebukati when he said this. Raila said that Chebukati is a criminal that should be jailed for life.
"Chebukati is a criminal who should be prosecuted and sent to jail," Raila told Trevor Ombija of Citizen TV.
Ombija then asked Raila about the rampant rumors about Uhuru Kenyatta abandoning him during the campaigns when he should have supported him. The former prime ministry however dismissed the claims and said that Uhuru's work was not to campaign for him. Raila said that he is a politician with the ability to campaign for himself and win alone.
"Nothing could be further from the truth. Uhuru was not supposed to be campaigning for me. I am a politician of my own right capable of campaigning for myself and winning the election on my own and Uhuru knows it. Uhuru said he stood by me and not between me and Ruto," Raila said further.
