Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, earlier today while addressing Kisii residents and their leaders, revealed that he almost endorsed Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi who hails from the region.
He said that the only thing that stopped him, was an appeal by Dr Matiangi himself, who insisted that the Orange Democratic Movement boss should have another go.
Other leaders present were Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Oguna and Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe. They all jointly with Matiangi, endorsed Raila Odinga and promised to work with him on his way to Statehouse.
Meanwhile, Deputy President William Ruto, toured the County of Kakamega where he advanced his hustler narrative. He criticised Honourable Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi, for seeking endorsement from the President rather than asking for votes from the people.
He also took another swipe at Mount Kenya Foundation, for the presidential interviews they have been conducting at Serena Hotel.
Lastly, the Deputy President condemned Raila Odinga over what he termed as a handout system in the name of Social Welfare Fund.
