Top leaders who attended Ruto's running mate ceremony at Karen Residence (Photos)

After months of waiting, the deputy president William Ruto has finally picked his running mate for the august polls.

With less than 90 days to the polls, Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza team has settled on Mathira Member of Parliament Hon. Rigathi Gachagua.

Ruto announcement comes a few hours to the IEBC's 16th may deadline.

Top politicians and party leaders graced the Sunday morning event.

Those present were Amani national congress party leader Hon Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya's Moses Masika Wetangula, Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader Dr. Alfred Mutua.

Others present include The National Assembly speaker Justine Muturi, Garisa town MP Aden Duale, Senetor Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru and Narok Senator Josphat Nanok.

However, in the event, Ruto thanked those whose names had been submitted for consideration.

They include MP Ndindi Nyoro, MP Alice Wahome, Ann Waiguru among others.

The Tharaka Nithi senator professor Kithure Kindiki failed to attend the ceremony.

Kindiki went up to run up and came second after the Mathura MP Gachagua.
