After serving for six years as IEBC commissioners, Wafula Chebukati and two other commissioners resigned from their positions yesterday.
For three days following the results, according to Chebukati, he was on edge, watching to see if someone paid him a visit. He confirmed that nobody visited his residence while exhaling a heaving sigh of relief.
In his concluding remarks, commissioner Abdi Guliye described the circumstances following the Bomas upheaval, which led to their decision to forgo their security detail and travel to an uncharted location.
He confirmed that out of concern of being tracked, they had to turn off their phones and leave them in Bomas.
Interesting information was revealed by Guliye who claimed they left the city in a Toyota Noah and just watched television to determine whether civil unrest had broken out across the nation.
Nevertheless, the commissioners insisted that they had nothing to repent for and that they had carried out their duties in accordance with their oath of office.
