Veteran journalist Macharia Gaitho has named the person allegedly set to replace Millicent Omanga in the Senate. 

Omanga, among other five Senators, were on Monday expelled by the Jubilee Party over what Secretary General Raphael Tuju termed as gross misconduct.

Others who were axed by Jubilee National Management Committee (NMC) are Isaac Mwaura, Seneta Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Prengei Victor and Iman Dekow.

The dethroned legislators are all close allies of Deputy President William Ruto who has fallen out with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Now Gaitho, a former Managing Editor, Special Projects for the Daily Nation, claimed communication consultant and activist Njeri Thorne had been chosen to take over from Omanga in Parliament.

"Meanwhile I hear Njeri Thorne is in line to take up the Senate slot vacated by Millicent Omanga. Might the seat be too big for her?" the former journalist tweeted on Tuesday.

In a rejoinder, Njeri refused to give details about her alleged nomination but took a swipe at Omanga over her huge body: "My job description won't entail sitting on things Macharia."

Njeri was among aspirants who were eyeing Jubilee Party ticket to vie for Langata Parliamentary seat in 2017 but was defeated by Generali Nixon Korir who went ahead and won the seat in the August 8 general election.

She holds a first class honours in law and a Masters in Political Communications and she previously lived in United Kingdom where she started an advertising company but sold it for Sh18 million when she was 26-years-old.

Njeri is known to be one of Jubilee's most articulate activists who regularly appears on TV and writes in newspapers to defend Uhuru's government.

In a tweet on Monday, Njeri, who is also known as Mheshimiwa Mama Bora, urged Jubilee to replace the dethroned women Senators with more informed ones.

"I hope the party puts in senate educated, articulate, women who support the party's position. Women who understand the law making process, with ideas and solutions," she tweeted.The expelled Senators got a temporary relief on Tuesday after Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) halted ther ouster after they filed a petition.
