Comedian Eric Omondi over the week was arrested after he led a protest against the Ruto regime for the high cost of living. The comedian alongside other activists and Kenyans blocked the Parliament road seeking audience with Speaker of the National Assembly Hon Moses Wetangula.
After their efforts to gain access to the Parliament premises turned futile, the police officers manning the establishments scattered them with teargas before arresting Omondi and sixteen others. The group were later on released on the following day with a cash bail of Ksh 10,000 each pending their hearing.
During their release, Omondi addressed the press where he revealed that if the cost of unga doesn't come down in 10 days, then he will lead Kenyans again on now a daily protest until the Ruto administration take action.
Today, the comedian has now released a statement via his social media pages where he asked Kenyans to gather on 1st March at City Stadium from 11am and 2 pm for a packet of Unga before they match to State House to present their grievances. Earlier on the comedian had asked Kenyans who are looking for jobs to print their CVs and bring them along and those with school fees arrears to being a stamped few balance form the school and those with rent arrears to also bring evidence as they present them to the president.
In today's notice, Omondi asked well-wishers to donate unga so that they can distribute it to the Kenyans who are struggling to put food on the table.
"This Wednesday we meet at City Stadium from 11am to 2pm as we share a packet of Unga with everyone that intends to join us to State house. We are calling upon well wishers to donate Unga (DO NOT GIVE MONEY, JUST UNGA) If you want to donate a packet or more please Contact 0718891427 or bring the unga to City Stadium on Wednesday."
