Members of constitutional commissions are meeting with President William Ruto today, January 17, 2023, in Stated House Nairobi.
The meeting will start at 11 a.m., according to State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talaam.
"The President has supported independent entities in a transparent manner. According to Talam, he wants to reassure them that his administration won't interfere with their authority.
the National Land Panel, the Parliamentary Service Commission, the Judicial Service Commission, and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission are among the members of the constitutional commission that will meet with Ruto.
The Public Service Commission, Salaries and Remuneration Commission, Teachers Service Commission, National Police Service Commission, and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission will also be in attendance.
The President promised voters during the campaigns that independent commissions would operate independently and benefit locals.
The IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati and two commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye will leave their positions on the day of the meeting after completing their six-year constitutional terms.
Chebukati's attendance at the meeting in the State House is still uncertain.
