Murathe Reveals Kalonzo Is Still In Azimio La Umoja

According to Jubilee Political deputy chairman David Murathe, Wiper Party president Kalonzo Musyoka is still a member of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition.

Murathe reiterated on Sunday that Kalonzo is freely joining the party.

He said that the coalition agreement says that no person may exit the alliance six months beforehand or three months after the election.

Kalonzo is still in Azimio because the agreement states that you may leave six months before and 90 days after the vote. It is because, in the occurrence of a roll, you cannot pledge allegiance to the opposing formation, "Murathe told NTV.

"Having Kalonzo inside Azimio implies Ukambani votes are locked for the block because Ngilu is in, Kivutha is in, but most of the hierarchy in South Eastern is now in."

Nevertheless, the Jubilee deputy chair stated that there is communication among Azimio principles that if the Wiper leadership decides to run for president, they will support him.

"I think Kalonzo has decided to remain in Azimio." He is not coerced. I also understand that Azimio leaders have agreed in principle that if he wants to resign or run for president on a Wiper ticket, they would not object. Murathe stated this.

His comments come following Kalonzo's leaving the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.

After feeling shortchanged inside the Azimio, he indicated that he would run for president on the Wiper banner within the One Kenya Alliance coalition.

You can't make a deal if you don't have trust. Even if they do, will they botch it up? " He said.
