It was reportedly agreed on Monday that the members would stop sending their money to their Jubilee Party and instead have it sent to the newly formed outfit.
However, in what appears like a slight change of plan, a good number of those who are working with Ruto now want their Sh10,000 monthly fees sent to a welfare group named 'Kazi ni Kazi'.
This was confirmed by Natinal Assembly Clerk Michael Sialai, who told said that he has received over 100 such applications, and will have to do as instructed by the members.
“Once such application is made and duly signed, the clerk acts as directed,” he told The Star.
Already, a number of MPs have admitted to being among those who trying to starve Jubilee, whose leadership, including Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta, has fallen out with Ruto and his allies of cash.
These include Belgut MP Nelson Koech and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, who said that some officials have been drinking with their money and then coming back to abuse them.
“I have reduced my contribution to Jubilee because the party does nothing. There is no need to put my money there,” said the MP, a staunch supporter of the DP.
From the welfare group, it is expected that the group will use the money to further build UDA, after which they will resign in huge numbers to join the new party.
