Governor aspirant Bella Akinyi is now the second female gubernatorial aspirant after Homa Bay County Woman Rep Gladys Wanga in Luo Nyanza.
The Agribusiness expert is set to face Lawyer George Mugoye Mbeya, Deputy Governor James Okumbe, Senator James Orengo and Nicholas Gumbo in Siaya County gubernatorial race come August 9, General Elections. However, Akinyi will first have to fight for ODM party ticket in the nominations slated for this month before facing Gumbo head on in the General Elections, this year.
The presence of Akinyi in the race for Siaya County governor's seat has escalated the political temperatures in the region as she's deemed the best candidate for the position by natives.
Speaking to this author on Friday, April 1,2022 Akinyi noted that Siaya County needs an administrator and a business expert for it's prosperity, revealing that she's ready to restore the lost glory of Siaya County.
"Siaya County requires an administrator and a business expert, qualities that I own. I will work hard to restore the lost glory of this great county," she said.

Akinyi revealed that she has vast experience having done Agribusiness for more than 10 years, worked as Regional Bureau for Africa and Arab states as well as Human Resources Advisor under United Nation Development Programme(UNDP) for over 15 years coordinating at least 50 countries.
The flamboyant Agribusiness expert did her Master of Science, Management, Human Resources Management at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA and Bachelor of Education at Kenyatta University in Kenya.
