37 days before the election, Kenyans woke up this morning knowing that DP Ruto would imprison Uhuru if he won the poll in August.

An outline of this new approach is said to have been included in his recently published manifesto, in which he promised to remove state capture and establish a commission to look into Uhuru's administration.
The action had therefore been seen as suggesting that Uhuru might face legal proceedings if it turned out that he had abused his power.
In light of Uhuru's imprisonment, the Jubilee Party, led by Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, has issued a warning.
Kioni warned that the measure would jeopardize the country's stability and perhaps spark unrest in a statement to The Nation.
According to Kioni's interpretation of this, DP Ruto is a person who would make his own laws rather than obey the constitution.
According to Kioni, only the Judiciary has the power to decide whether to file charges against or make an arrest for a person.
