The Chief administrative secretary of education Zack Kinuthia has taken a strong stance on the BBI ruling. While speaking to a section of MPs and Governors, the analyst brought new insight into the way forward after the High Court decision and suggested an election for judges. ''Let us not forget from where we are coming. If we can elect and remove MPs from parliament, vote in and impeach Governors from office, we can go that route and elect Judges of The High Court. We have to start such discussions today. Ask yourself, who are the judges accountable to?'' He asked. ''If Governors are accountable to their county and presidents worldwide are accountable to their citizens, then let us also hold judges accountable to the people,'' he added.
According to Kinuthia, this will influence more refined and informed decisions on matters of public concern in the future. He added that everything is possible through parliament, it was just up to the MPs.
''This is political, but they are comfortable because nobody will remove them from their offices. Let us argue politically, but do not allow it to interfere with the integrity of our nation. Whenever we are charged with serving the people, we have to do so diligently.'' he concluded.
