The move by the government to import maize into the country to combat the food shortage in the country has continued to trigger criticism on CS Moses Kuria.

Former Nyeri Constituency MP Hon Ngunjiri Wambugu has jumped to CS Kuria's defense amidst the maize importation saga.
Wambugu has called on cessation of attacks on CS Kuria over the decision to import duty free maize alleging that the attack is targeting people from Mt Kenya.
He has further stated that CS Kuria never made the decision to import maize alone since the decision was discussed by Cabinet chaired by President William Ruto & all CSs were present at the meeting.

"Watu waachane na CS Moses Kuria. No way Mutha made the decision to import maize by himself. It must have been discussed by Cabinet. Cabinet was chaired by the President & all CSs were present. ‘Our People’ must not be targeted!" Ngunjiri Wambugu said.
