Kenyans have been left eliciting mixed reaction after former statesman Mutahi Ngunyi directed his happy new year message to Kikuyus and Luos after a long silence during the holidays.

He explained this by saying if you focus on the negative this year, it will expand and if you focus on the positive it will multiply. He argued that energy moves where attention goes. He therefore advised Kenyans to look for something to be grateful for concluding by wishing Luo nation a happy new year while Kikuyus, prosperous one.
Mutahi Ngunyi issued a statement at his official twitter account that said, “What you FOCUS on EXPANDS. If you focus on the NEGATIVE this year, it will EXPAND. If you focus on the POSITIVE it will multiply. ENERGY moves where attention GOES. Look for something to be GRATEFUL for. To the Luo Nation, HAPPY new year. To Kikuyus, PROSPEROUS New year!”
