Welcome to my posts. It is my hope that your day is moving on well. The 2022 general elections drum beats are on a high gear, with many political coalitions being formed daily. The political arena in Kenya is ever growing with the entrance of new political parties. Of late, many are anticipating for possible coalition between Raila Odinga and William Ruto. I therefore decided to analyze the state salary of Kenya's second in command, deputy president William Ruto.
HE. William Ruto is said to be one of the richest politicians in the country. He has since defended his wealth, having a multi-billion chicken farm, a five-star hotel, lots of companies among many other sources of income. Apart from his businesses, Ruto still earns a state salary from the Kenyan government every month. Lets see how much is the salary without an inclusion of the allowances.
These salary figures are according to the salaries and remuneration commission of Kenya gazette notice of July 2017. The deputy president takes home a salary of 1.22 million Kenya shillings per month. In a month of 30 days, this translates to 40,667 Kshs per day.
However, the above is just a basic salary. A number of state officers are entitled to allowances depending on their engagements. Thanks for reading.
