Nandi governor Stephen Sang was left with an egg on his face when he attempted to campaign for his reelection in 2022 while on a development tour in the county.
It began after Sang, who was addressing them in Kalenjin dialect enquired from them whether they still subscribed to his ideology of spearheading development in the county. Also, he queried whether they still supported his reelection.
However, to his shock, the residents informed him in unison that he was heading for political Oblivion. He repeated the enquiry and the response was the same.
"(We Will take you home) Tuga has) !!" Shouted locals.
This comes days after a section of locals expressed dissatisfaction with the development record of the first term governor. They accused him of failing to listen to their plight. Also, they blamed him for aiding and abetting corruption in his administration when he allegedly failed to sack staff who were involved in building materials scandals.
The county boss is facing stiff competition in his bid to retain his seat after a lawyer Allan Kosgei, who is also the son of veteran politician Henry Kosgei declared interest in the same.
Further, the governor is trouble after all the Members of National Assembly together with the senator have ganged up and planned to sent him home next year. They have alleged that Sang had failed to deliver the requisite services to the residents and he was presiding over a looting-spree with his staff.
