Azimio One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has this afternoon revealed that Kitui governor Charity Ngilu will not defend her seat in the coming elections as she will be given another role in his government. He said this during a campaign meeting at Mutha township in Kitui. This has reduced pressure in the Kitui gubernatorial race.

Ruto's man Jonathan Mueke now has a chance of clinging in the position as he was the one giving Ngilu most competition. His chances of winning the race under United Democratic Alliance ticket have increased. This may be the case even if Charity Ngilu considers to back another candidate in the race.

The campaigns in the county are expected to shift as the battle has now been left among three politicians, Dr Malombe, Mr Musila and former Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mueke. Ngilu is expected to endorse Mr. Musila as he is already in the Azimio One Kenya coalition.
