Mishra an Indian by race has been vocal in condemning attacks on some politicians from the great Rift valley region, though undecided on who to support in 2022 presidential elections, Dr. Mishra has been viewed as a critic of the deputy president William Ruto.

The battle to take control of the Great Rift valley region is between deputy president William Ruto and Gideon Moi, the two have declared their Interest in succeeding president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto controls the biggest part of the region with the majority of politicians supporting his bid, Gedion on the other hand has a few leaders such as Mishra who support him. Mishra's declaration is good news to Ruto as it is now clear that he is not against his bid to become the 5th President of Kenya.
