Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has been treated to an unexpected humiliation in his trip to Mt Kenya after a resident of Murang'a heckled his key ally from the region in front of him.
The local dismissed Gikuru for averring that the former vice-president had done a lot for Mt Kenya in terms of development than any other politician. He reminded the official that his remarks were outright lies.
" (There, you have lied) Hapo umesema uwongo," said the local.
However, in a video that was shared on Twitter on Saturday evening, ANC SG was heard and seen downplaying what the resident had said. He mocked the resident by reminding him that he could be under the influence of "something" which implied a drug or alcohol.
"You must have taken something," Gikuru tells the resident.
This comes after Mudavadi and his allies paid a visit to Gikuru's home to celebrate with him after his appointment to the party's Secretariat. The event took place in Kiharu constituency on the aforementioned day.
ANC appointed him to the post in a bid to help in managing party affairs before, during and after 2022 general election. He will oversee nominations and other issues as the country head to the polls.
Mudavadi, who is the party's chief is among the 2022 presidential contenders. He will be seeking nomination using its ticket in the State House race. Being among principals of One Kenya Alliance, he will have to battle it out with his three colleagues Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Gideon Moi.
