New Candidate Unveiled In Nairobi Gubernatorial By-election

The Nairobi Gubernatorial by-elections is expected by many to be a fierce battle between various political factions in the country.

Already, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party that has been linked to the Deputy President William Ruto has given its party ticket to Bishop Margret Wanjiru who will now be the Tangatanga candidate in the by-elections.

And as stakes are high in the forthcoming by-election, another former MP has declared interest in the Forthcoming by-election

Former Mandera Central MP Abdikadir Mohamed has announced his entry to the Nairobi Gubernatorial race.

The MP has come with loads of Promises to the people of Nairobi saying it is time for the County to be liberated from the hands of thugs and cartels that has been denying the people of Nairobi their rights.

The former MP, who is a lawyer by profession told a local daily that the people of Nairobi deserves better leadership and he is ready to offer the best to Nairobi residents so that they can enjoy the fruits of devolution.“It is true I am under enormous pressure, and I am giving it serious consideration. You and I no doubt agree that Nairobi deserves better than what we have, and what we have had. We will spend 80 per cent of our lives here and will most likely die here, so why not,” Abdikadir told the Standard.

The MP also did not spare the Nairobians by telling them the root cause of their sufferings.

In the interview, the former MP said the people of Nairobi have found themselves in a difficult situation because of failing to get better leadership that is cognizant of their of what they need as residents.

He said he will offer the alternative leadership they need so that he cand deliver on the mandate of the office of a Governor.

“All in all, the city residents, rich or poor, are paying the price for failing to get it right in leadership. When it’s well settled, and I am in the race, I will speak to Nairobians and I am sure they will listen,” he added as quoted by the Standard.
