Patriotism, Man Walks For 7 Days To Attend Mashujaa Day Only To Be Denied Invitation Into Wang'uru

When it comes to patriotism, Stephen Kariuki Muigai takes it seriously as any loyal Kenyan citizen. The 62-year-old man walked from Nakuru County just to attend the big day, Mashujaa Day at Wang'uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County.

Me. Stephen began his journey seven days ago which was on the 13th of this month. He arrived in Kirinyaga County at the stadium yesterday to prepare for today.

According to the sources, he declared that this is his fourth trek to attend Mashujaa Day. He even stated that in 2017, he attended the swearing-in of President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto.

Stephen narrated that his journey had many challenges such as the curfew hours, sleeping in the forests, and bad weather. Sometimes, he was accommodated in caring people's homes while other times he just slept in the forests.

However, due to his patriotism, nothing didn't deter him from visiting the last Mashujaa day for President Uhuru.

Despite all these, Stephen was disallowed to enter the Stadium because he did not have the invitation card. 2000 Kirinyaga residents had already got their invitation cards.

However, Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru heard Stephen's story and gifted him for his patriotism.
