Political analyst and pundit Prof. Herman Manyora recently put up a novel theory regarding how President Uhuru Kenyatta is aiding DP Ruto's candidacy by luring Raila.
Raila's popularity in the Mt. Kenya region, according to Prof. Herman Manyora, is being undermined by President Uhuru Kenyatta in an effort to defeat him and hand the triumph to DP Ruto.
Raila Odinga, a former prime minister, was not aware that President Uhuru Kenyatta was endorsing William Ruto's campaign.
President Kenyatta should campaign for votes on behalf of Mr. Odinga, but Mr. Manyora rejected this idea, calling such claims absurd.
According to Manyora, Kalonzo Musyoka's involvement in the Azimio alliance will solely depend on the incentives provided to the former vice president.
It depends on how he joins and what he will get to symbolize the standing of the region in the Azimio government, Mr. Manyora said in reference to the challenges faced by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetang'ula when they decided to work with DP Ruto.
