'Ruto Ingilia Kati' - Sirisia Residents React to MP Waluke's Jail Term, Beg Ruto to Intervevene

Earlier today, the court upheld the sentencing of the Member of Parliament for Sirisia Constituency to sixty seven (67) years in prison or pay a fine amounting to seven hundred and twenty seven million ( KES 727,000,000).

A section of residents from Sirisia Constituency have reacted to the ruling that may see their MP lose his seat in the National Assembly.

While speaking to the media, residents urged president William Ruto to intervevene the case and save their MPs from going to jail. " We are asking president William Ruto to intervevene and save our MP. Though he was in Jubilee, his heart was in Kenya Kwanza," a resident said.

Additionally, the residents expressed fear that the MP's plans for his people may be thrown to the dustbin should the MP fail to pay the required fine.

According to the law, the president of the republic of Kenya has no power to interfere with court processes. Ruto is not in position to help the MP escape the penalties meted on him.

Moreso, Ruto has promised to improve the independence of the Judiciary. The DP Rigathi Gachagua has also pledged to end impunity. Sirisia MP seat will be declared vacant immediately the MP misses eight consecutive sittings.
