Nyando Member of Parliament and staunch Azimio supporter Honourable Jared Okello has revealed the engagement status between ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the western world - the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
Speaking to Citizen digital, the Nyanza legislator revealed that the ODM leader has not indicated at least in the foreseeable future any engagements that he has with the United States of America or London in the UK for that matter. This revelation follows a series of political events that led to the government of Kenya seeking to deploy sanctions to Mr Odinga over heavy political demonstrations.
Mr Okello also explained that what Odinga and the entire Azimio brigade is doing around the country is lawful and does not in any way trample upon the Constitution. According to Mr Okello, they have a right to move around the country and associate with the people in various capacities that they may deem fit, with a sole aim of dialogue.
According to the Azimio faction, the western world, including the Untied Kingdom and the United States can in no way deploy sanctions to Mr Odinga has his activities around the country are justified by the Constitution and the applicable law.
It can be remembered that Martha Karua, former Azimio deputy president designate had been once bared from traveling to the United States when she was serving as a cabinet minister in the Kibaki government. What followed was her resilience and a declaration that she would stay in the country and would not be worried.
