Door Slams Open for Kalonzo- Ruto Showdown in Makueni

It has come at the time the Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka least expected, as the Kitise/Kituhuku member of county assembly Kevin Mutuku tendered in his resignation papers.

The speaker of Makueni county assembly Douglas Mbilu acknowledge receiving it, and he had initiated the process of replacing him by notifying the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC).

The resignation by the Member of the county assembly puts the ward in the political radar, as nearly all parties will be looking to flex their muscles in the region.

Wiper will be looking to regain it's lost glory, by clinching the post, after it was previously trounced by Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap chap party in the Mutonguni by election.

With the Deputy president William Ruto already boosting of a regions Kingpin in the former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, the battle will be on.

The ward will prove a fertile ground to battle, as Deputy presidentis using this by elections to weigh himself ahead of the 2022 elections.

For Kalonzo, it will be time to prove himself as still the regions King, while for the rebels it will be a good time to show their presence, by defeating Musyoka.

Deputy President William be hoping that this time round Jubilee party does not call it quits, as it did in Musambweni, where they withdrew their candidate in the spirit of handshake.
