Raila Odinga together with other ODM delegates and leaders met in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County in Mount Kenya. Despite being told that the meeting was not only for ODM but also for leaders from all the other parties, most of the people who were given a chance to speak found themselves campaigning for Raila and attacking his rival DP Ruto.
Esther Passaris was one of the leaders attending the meeting and since she is allied to Raila she could not help but say a few words of praise about him.
According to her, Raila is the best choice since he is inspired by Mandela who uses the opportunity given to him to do the best while Ruto follows examples of the likes of President Museveni who want to rule for many years without results. He urged Mt Kenya residents to vote for him since he is not tribal and loves all Kenyans.
Passaris said, "Thank you so much Mount Kenya people for welcoming us together with Baba. Raila has said one vote one shilling unlike the other one (Ruto) who wants to confuse the mountain. When we were fighting for the New Constitution he was busy opposing it, now he is against making changes too."
"Raila is inspired by leaders like Mandela while Ruto by Museveni. Raila is someone who wants to come for five years, do his job, set the country right and go but Ruto is like those leaders who want to stay in office for 30 years and go nowhere. The best man to rule this country is Raila Amollo Odinga with no tribalism," she added.
She was cut short by the MC because she was drifting from the meeting's agenda.
