UDA sent a letter to ICC on to the emerging pattern of state sponsored violence.

This morning the party through its chairman Johnson muthama and secretary-general Veronica maina, have sent a letter on to the emerging pattern of state enabled violence to the attention of his excellency, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta duplicated by the ICC prosecutor on January 17, the UDA said it was concerned about recent serious security concerns.

UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina said the incidents were linked to action and collusion with the government.

Maina said this about the Jacaranda riots. During the riots over the weekend, Deputy President William Ruto in Jacaranda was confronted with riots after riotous youths threw stones at a rally.

The incident did not disrupt the DP meeting as the meeting went ahead as planned.

"It is very clear that criminals are being encouraged to prevent the event from taking place by the strict policy on the use of violence," Maina said.

"This vicious practice is a legitimate goal for ODM and has been used over the years to suppress democratic competition, at a cost to innocent Kenyans." he asserted.

In this case, at least six were brought to the IG IG. The six include riots on September 2 in Kisii, Murang'a on October 4, Taita Taveta chaos on August 24, 2021, Kondele, Busia, and Nyeri riots.

The UDA wants the president to ensure that the lives and property of the people of Kenya remain protected under the law.
