Judiciary Gives Azimio Lawyers Deadline To Submit Their Petition Files

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced William Ruto's victory as president-elect of the Republic of Kenya on Monday. The deadline by which Azimio Lawyers are required to hand in their petition files was detailed in the letter of urgent notification that the Judiciary Commission sent out. The letter will be copied to the team that came in last place in the election results as well as any other party that has concerns over the statement that was made.

The Azimio La Umoja-OKA coalition is the most significant competitor and the alliance that is most likely to file a petition. The deadline for the submission of their petition file has been extended to the 23rd of August, as notified by the Judiciary Commission. However, they imposed one further requirement on the manner in which the attorneys for Azimio would present the case.

According to the notification, the filing team has to file their petition 14 hours before the denied period, which is on August 23. According to the letter, the Azimio La Umoja-OKA coalition team will need to begin filing their paperwork as soon as tomorrow in order to guarantee that they would have an easy hearing on the topic.
