UN Finally Issues A Statement Over Kenyan Elections Ahead Of Issuing Final Presidential Results

For the first time, Kenya has been applauded for holding a peaceful election within and across the boarders. This comes after the United Nation issued a statement over the Kenyan election which was carried out on Tuesday congratulating the Kenyan Citizens, IEBC and various government agencies to maintain peace.

The United Nation's Secretary General Antonio Guterres opened up in the statement to congratulate all the agencies and stakeholders for organizing and managing a peaceful election in Kenya. However, Antonio Guterres asked the political candidates to maintain calm and respect the results that will be announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) within the time span allowed by the constitution.

Antonio Guterres also applauded Kenyans for turning out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right during the historic day of August 9. He therefore pleaded with the candidates to accept all of the results once announced to avoid creating tension in the country.
