Makueni governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana, has broken silence on a viral article that purportedly came from him confirming that he has shelved his senatorial ambition in favour of Dan Maanzo of Wiper Democratic Movement party.
Kibwana has Dismissed the letter and has termed it as propaganda adding that it has been sponsored by his competitors who are feeling the heat already.
He has reaffirmed that he is in the race and will not quit no matter what urging his supporters not to believe in the propaganda. "For avoidance of any doubt, my senatorial candidature is intact and solid and Makueni people have shown every support to elect me their senator on August 9."
On his future in the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party, the governor has reaffirmed his support for the former prime minister Raila Odinga and has vowed to continue campaigning for him.
"Further, I am strongly in Azimio - One Kenya alliance and focused to mobilize votes for our presidential candidate; Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga" He concluded.
This comes amid intensified calls within Azimio to field single candidates for various elective seats to increase chances of winning.
