Look This Huge Sum Of Money Each Outgoing Kenyan Cabinet Secretaries to Take Home in Farewell Pay

Outgoing Kenyan Cabinet Secretaries who served in the administration of former President Uhuru Kenyatta for two terms would get a gratuity payment of KSh 20.8 million apiece.

Principal Secretaries who have been in their positions since 2013 will also receive a comparable leave package.

Given that they are not eligible for a pension, the state officers are given fat compensation. For each year of service, 31% of the annual basic salary is used to determine the amount.

“A State officer serving on fixed term shall serve on contract and be paid a service gratuity at the end of the term at the rate of 31 percent of annual basic pay for every year served," the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) stated in a gazette notice.

Raychelle Omamo (foreign affairs), James Macharia (infrastructure), Amina Mohamed (sports), Fred Matiang'i (interior), Najib Balala (tourism), and Adan Mohamed are Cabinet Secretaries who served under Uhuru for two terms (EAC). According to Business Daily, Cabinet Secretaries who have been in their positions since Uhuru reorganized the Cabinet in 2015 are eligible to a gratuity pay of KSh 15 million, while those who were appointed during the second term would receive KSh 10.47 million.
