According to Citizen TV, the governors praised Raila, regarding him as the father of devolution.

Close to 30 governors attended the Naivasha event. Governors Kiraitu Murungi (Meru) and Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi) were notably absent raising eyebrows for they had declared their support of a Raila presidency.

Governors declared that they will mobilise resources to advance for Raila’s presidential quest.

Raila exuded confidence on the progress of devolution and assured governors of continued collaboration to enhance service delivery, road network and water supply. The governors on their part hailed the ODM leader as the ‘father of devolution.’

“Raila Odinga has fought for the liberation of this country to the extent of being arrested for 8 years. On 2010 constitution, he was at the forefront and worked alongside others to bring the new constitution, including devolution, he is really the father of devolution, that is undisputed,” stated Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana.

His sentiments were echoed by Kitui governor Charity Ngilu who said that they were sure that Raila will safeguard devolution.
