How Raila Odinga Is Emulating William Ruto's Political Strategies To Statehouse

Deputy President William Ruto is working day and night to make it to statehouse. He has deployed numerous strategies to win over Kenyan vote. This has seemed to be working so far to his advantage. ODM party leader Raila Odinga has been accused of copying the steps of his political rival.

The first aim of Ruto was to get the greenlight from the church leadership. This is by mainly visiting the church on a weekly basis and engaging in contributions. Raila Odinga has also followed suit. He now visits various churches in the country. This is something he has never done in the past.

The bottom up economic model by Ruto has engaged well with the youth. This is because he has promising to uplift the vulnerable in the country. Raila in his side has come up with the trickle down economy. This is where the government creates businesses and jobs for the young. Raila has been enticing Kenyans using this model.

Ruto has changed the political dialogue in the country from being tribal based to ideologies. He has been dismantling the idea of having regional kingpins who represent certain tribes. Raila has copied this by dissociating with the likes Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka.
