Former Kisii Governor James Ongwae Urges Governor Arati to Focus on Service Delivery

Former Kisii governor James Ongwae has urged current governor Simba Arati to prioritize serving the people of Kisii rather than being involved in theatrics and the film industry. Speaking at a burial in Marani yesterday, Ongwae emphasized the need for leaders to focus on delivering services to the people who elected them instead of engaging in side shows that do not contribute to development.

Ongwae's comments come in the wake of Governor Arati's recent strong stance against corruption in the county, which has resulted in the suspension of several officials implicated in graft scandals. The governor has also vowed to protect the county's resources and expose politicians who have looted the county's coffers, leading to a decline in service delivery.

However, Ongwae's advice to Governor Arati also includes a plea for the people of Kisii to give the newly-elected President William Ruto time to work. He reminded the audience that Ruto has only been in power for six months out of his five-year term and should be given a chance to deliver on his promises.
