Uhuru's Longtime Ally Recounts a Day The President Used a Bucket to Bathe After Lacking a Shower Tap

Despite being a president, a public and influential figure not only in the country but across the globe, Uhuru Kenyatta lets it loose when hanging out with his close allies and friends.

His friends term him a 'comrade' who will always check out on them after missing their calls, chat them on WhatsApp and plan closed door meetings to rekindle their past memories.

Speaking with the Nairobian, Billy Arocho who started his friendship with the president in 1990s during Kanu regime, says he is a true friend who steps up for his close friends in times of need.

Arocho adds that it was not until he joined the president for presidential campaigns in Turkana, that he got to know a remarkable side of the son of the first president.

He recounts how despite being in one of the best hotels in the county, there was no shower, and guests were using buckets and an outdoor bathroom, when Uhuru who comes from one of the richest families in the country happily seized the moment.

"We were in the best hotel in Turkana but it had no shower. I woke up early because I had to see it with my own eyes. As if it is something he was used to, he picked up his bucket of water and headed to the bathroom," said Arocho.
