Ford Kenya party lost one of its influential leaders to the Orange Democratic Movement party of Kenya. Hon Richard Onyonka, who was the party Deputy Leader, ditched the Moses Wetangula led party and joined Hon Raila Amolo Odinga's party. Richard Onyonka is the current sitting Member of Parliament for Kitutu Chache South Constituency in Kisii County. He was elected during the hotly contested 2017 general elections through the Ford Kenya party.
Hon Richard Onyonka has broken his silence amid reports of the launch of a new political outfit. There have been reports that the Democratic Action Party is being launched at Bomas in Nairobi County. According to Hon Richard Onyonka, he said that the Senatorial seat will enable him to accomplish and connect with the community more & work close with the people to a better future.
"A leader makes a commitment to serve the needs of the ‘least of these’ and give voice to the voiceless. This Senatorial seat will help me accomplish that and connect with the community more & work close with the people to a better future."
